We are dancers dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the first generation of Israeli folk dances,  Rikuday Dor Rishon. These dances evolved during the creation and building of Israel - from the pre-independence era to the reunification of Jerusalem and the post-Six Day War period. The folk dances of this generation reflect an energy level, spirit and optimism unique in the Jewish cultural experience.

Founded in 1987, we focused on the first generation of Israeli folk dances for several years. We gradually expanded the repertoire to include selected classics from the 1970's through the mid-1990's that reflect the spirit of the earlier dances. Yet our emphasis remains on the first generation of Israeli folk dances with a good mix of later classics.
